The hotel enjoys a very central location at the West End of Princes Street, where it joins Lothian Road. As a result, tourist sights such as Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile and the Grassmarket are within walking distance.

Clarendon Hotel Description

The Clarendon Hotel (formerly the Maitland) is a townhouse property, situated at the West End of Princes Street. Varying in size from small to medium, the 66 guestrooms are decorated in an unfussy traditional style with light colour schemes. Most are doubles, but some can hold up to 3 adults. A hot and cold buffet breakfast is offered from 7.00am - 9.30 am in the dining room, which is full of natural light thanks to floor to ceiling windows. The hotel does not have a private car park. The nearest car park is the NCP on Castle Terrace, approximately 5 minutes’ walk away, just off Lothian Road. (Prospective clients should also note that there is construction work being conducted right outside the hotel due to the introduction of a tram system to central Edinburgh. Work will probably continue into 2009. This doesn’t prevent access on foot, but could be a problem if you are arriving or departing by taxi.)
